Andy Birkey, the house homosexualist at the Minnesota Independent, writes in an article titled “Bible-wielding couple arrested for trespassing at Pride”:
A Wisconsin couple was arrested on Saturday for distributing bibles without permission at Twin Cities Pride, Minnesota’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender celebration. After Brian and Doris Johnson, self-described “born-again Christians,” were denied a vendor table at the festival, the couple took matters into their own hands and began distributing bibles. When they were told by police to stop because they were in violation of festival rules, the couple continued and were arrested on trespassing charges.
The Johnsons have hosted a table at the festival for more than a decade, displaying models of aborted fetuses and signs with bible verses. While they don’t have signs criticizing LGBT people, they would often engage festival goers in heated conversations homosexuality. The couple told WCCO on Friday that they “believe homosexuality is a sin and God has sent them to share that message.”
Because the couple often sparked controversy and arguments, the organizers of Twin Cities Pride denied them a table this year.
“It is not, in our belief, discrimination, certainly not,” said Twin Cities Pride chair David Hill. “If anything, we’re worried about being discriminated against at our own event.”
My response to the pathetically clueless David Hill is included here.
Mr. Birkey, for the purposes of objective truth, should correct his synopsis, to wit:
“Bible wielding”. The Christians were not throwing Bibles at anyone.
“[D]isplaying models of aborted fetuses”. The display showed the process of fetal development.
“While they don’t have signs criticizing LGBT people, they would often engage festival goers in heated conversations [about] homosexuality”. Wrong. Festival goers would engage the Christians in “heated conversations”. Some would rip pages from the Bible and steal part of the display.
“Because the couple often sparked controversy and arguments, the organizers of Twin Cities Pride denied them a table this year”. The Anti War Committee – who supports Palestinian Arab-Islamic jihadists – are allowed a table at the event. The goal of jihadists is the creation of an Islamic theocracy, which (including the Palestinian Arab territories) routinely tortures and executes homosexuals. The existence of the AWC at the Festival, apparently “spark[s] [no] controversy and arguments”, and therefore a group that sympathizes with those who tortures and executes homosexuals is acceptable.
On the other hand, Christians handing out bibles, preaching their gospel, and talking with those who seek their counsel are not acceptable.
We live in a strange, strange world.

Three Christians were arrested today for trespassing handing out Bibles.
The Anti War Committee, a group who calls for the destruction of Israel (and along with it, the Jews ) was granted space at this year’s “Pride” event, held in Loring Park. The AWC is sympathetic to the Palestinian Arab Jihadists and Islamists who wish to establish another Muslim-Arab sharia state upon the ruins of Israel and the bodies of dead Jews, Christians, Baha’is, and anyone else who is a non-Muslim, dhimmi, mushrik, who wants their daughters to be educated, who refuses to be subject to honor killing murder etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
Has it occurred to the organizers of Twin Cities Pride that by allowing the AWC to spread propaganda at the booth 4030, they are repudiating human rights in favor of political Islamism and therefore Sharia law? How would they fare in a Hamas controlled Islamic Republic?
From the Advocate, not well:
The abusive treatment of gays by the Palestinian Authority–which does not differ much from the abusive treatment of gays in most other Arab and Muslim societies–is conclusively documented. Take just one story—in the May 2003 issue of Gay & Lesbian Review Worldwide by Charity Crouse (who is described in the story as a “Jewish lesbian anti-occupation activist”). Tarek, a young Palestinian gay man suspected of homosexuality, was sentenced to a “reeducation” camp run by Muslim clerics under Palestinian Authority jurisdiction. He said that for a period of two months he was “subjected to beatings with belts, clubs, and was forced to sit on bottles which were inserted into my rectum. I was hanged by the hands, I was deprived of sleep, and when I finally did sleep, my limbs were tied to the floor.”
Tarek was lucky—he wasn’t executed.
Has it occurred to Jim Kelley, the festival manager of Twin City Pride (612-305-6907) - that by allowing Jihadist sympathizers to have a table at their event he is repudiating the human rights that gay men and lesbians have in Israel to at least have a right to life and not be murdered by the State – rights that are not found in the surrounding Islamic Republics?
No, it didn’t cross his mind. Jim is too busy allegedly having Christians arrested for handing out Bibles in a public park.
WCCO covered the story about the refusal of TC Pride to allow Christians to hand out Bibles:
While they do not behave violently, their display and discussions do offend some and have even incited participants to rip up their bibles. Because of that, the new festival management wouldn’t approve their application this year.
“It is not, in our belief, discrimination, certainly not. If anything, we’re worried about being discriminated against at our own event,” said Twin Cities Pride’s David Hill.
There are many organizations including churches in the area that are affirming of the GLBT community. But festival organizers say the Johnsons are not.
“Are you not discriminating against me because I’m a Born Again Christian, and isn’t discrimination against the content of speech, isn’t that discrimination?” said Johnson.
While the Johnsons did sign the festival’s anti-discrimination statement, signing is not enough. A dozen e-mails were exchanged and the Johnson’s could not convince organizers that they would be accepting of the GLBT community, so they will not have a booth this year. The Johnsons say they will still attend the Pride Fest and try to hand out bibles.
Pride has paid a fee to rent the whole park. According to Minneapolis Parks, in that case, Pride does have the right to choose which vendors are allowed.
Therefore, David Hill (612-305-6901) allows the Anti War Committee – who sympathizes with murderous anti-Semites and deniers of human rights – to speak, but won’t allow Christians to the same rights. Signing a non-discrimination statement wasn’t enough. People ripping up Bibles and stealing parts of their fetal development display – the thugs – have set the standard for TC Pride: the Heckler’s Veto.
Mr. Hill is afraid of “being discriminated against” – not by Jihadist sympathizers, not hung from constructions cranes, or stoned to death – he is afraid of Christians handing out Bibles and preaching their gospel. And what of the Republicans, who were also present? What is that party’s view on homosexuality and same-sex “marriage”? Isn’t the actions of TC Pride arbitrary or inconsistent?
The AWC signed the same non-discrimination statement, no doubt, so they’re ok – and the Christians aren’t. One supports Jihad in the Middle East, and the other wants to hand out free Bible and preach their religion.
Right?
The Contract Clause does not abrogate fundamental rights.
BTW: Bail has been posted. Release will be between 10:30 and 10:45 PM Central time.
Update: they were released at approximately 12:30 AM.
Update June 28th 12:30 PM: The group was allegedly told by a short-haired female manager at Cafe Lurcat that: the group can sit there and have drinks, however, if they speak against Pride, she will have them arrested. Lurcat has a permit (theoretically) for a sidewalk cafe, however, they do not own the entire sidewalk.
Update June 28th 4:20 PM: Verified Meredith Aby and the AWC present earlier at a booth shared with Women Against Military Madness. I asked them a rhetorical question (paraphrased): Who executes gay men and lesbians – Israel or the surrounding Arab sharia states and the Palestinian Arab Territories?
They could not answer me, and I was informed I should leave.

Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow DFLers:
The preamble to the DFL Constitution is our moral foundation. It commands us to “sustain and advance the principles of liberal democracy, uphold human rights, civil rights and constitutional government”. In the Democratic Party Credo, the DFL alleges to believe in “a society where both public and private discrimination based upon race, sex, age, color, creed, national origin, religion, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, economic status, philosophical persuasion, or physical disability are condemned”. The DFL further alleges to believe in “[a] society where we recognize that the strengthening of the family and the protection of children are essential to the health of the nation”. Finally, the DFL alleges to believe “[t]his is our purpose and our promise”.
Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow DFLers:
Our Party cannot advance human and civil rights by it’s support of mass abortion and the continuing moral disgrace of upwards to 50 million – I reiterate – FIFTY MILLION abortions since the United States Supreme Court federalized a previously unknown right of abortion in 1973. The DFL cannot claim to believe in a society free of discrimination by it’s support of the most violent form of discrimination, the killing of innocent life in utero. The DFL cannot claim to believe in a society that protects its children when it supports the mass killing of children in utero. The DFL cannot continue it’s support of mass abortion and the attendant degradation of the inherent value of innocent human life and maintain its credibility as the Party of human and civil rights.
I, therefore, assert: the DFL’s current position on the acceptance of mass abortion is fundamentally inconsistent and antithetical to it’s core principles.
Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow DFLers:
We must hold our Party accountable to its rightful claim of advancing human rights to those who cannot possibly speak for themselves – and to address the issue of abortion and euthanasia so that our Party can re-establish its credibility and that of our fundamental values.
I hereby present a proposal for a Pro-Life Caucus in the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party of Minnesota.
The Pro-Life Caucus must exist to foster respect for life, from the beginning of life to natural death. No man or woman – nor any government, without due process – may violate the sanctity of innocent human life, whether by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, or murder.
We shall recognize that members of the Caucus believe that no woman should be forced to conceive if the pregnancy is a result of a criminal act, and differ on the subject of capital punishment.
We will state that no man, woman, nor any child be denied the basic dignity of adequate health care, food and nutrition, and clean, safe housing.
We will emphatically state that no one can be forced by law, edict, coercion, under false pretenses, nor against their religious, moral, or ethical beliefs be subjected to, provide, procure, finance or participate in abortion or euthanasia, or distribute abortifacients or euthanizing agents.
The DFL Pro-Life Caucus will recruit, support, endorse, and elect DFL candidates who believe in the foregoing and not to the exclusion of any part of our core beliefs.
The Pro-Life Caucus will educate members of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and the electorate about the ethical, moral, and religious issues concerning human life, abortion, and euthanasia.
Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow DFLers:
I appeal to the members of our Party to no longer remain silent. Those who who believe that abortion and euthanasia degrades our civil society must have a voice in the DFL.
Thank you for your attention.

From Weekend Edition on National Public Radio (via Minnesota Public Radio), starting at 3:05 in the interview, Scott Simon interviewed the Republican Social Marxist, Rob Long.
Rob Long: …personally, for my sake, I’m completely in favor of it – I…I feel that gay people should be allowed to get married, and when they get married, and when they have children; they should have school voucher system to send them to any school they want; and they should have a flat tax; and they should have all sorts of things that we as Republicans believe, in sort of a free market, low tax, small government economy.
Scott Simon: Umm, what do you think of not just Rush Limbaugh, but what seems to be his prominent role in defining the [Republican] Party?
Someone tell Mr. Long that two homosexuals can’t “have” children because homosexual couples cannot procreate.
Didn’t Scott Simon notice that?
